Има градове, които се раждат от камъка. Русе се ражда от водата.
Вече 160 години Порт Русе е мястото, където реката среща човешкия труд, мечтите и движението напред. Дунавът не е просто граница или път – той е жива нишка, която свързва поколения хора, пристигащи кораби, отдалечени брегове и истории, започнали край кея.
Водата винаги е била пулсът на това място. Тя носи със себе си ритъма на пристанищните дейности, шума на вълните край борда на корабите, отраженията на града и спомените на хората, които са оставили своя следа тук.
Но водата има и друг образ – този на празника, красотата и живота. Фонтаните на Русе са малките градски реки, които събират погледи, усмивки и срещи. Те разказват за град, който умее да превръща водата не само в път, но и в изкуство.
А зад всяка капка стоят хората. Пристанищните работници, инженерите, моряците, търговците, семействата, които са свързали съдбите си с реката – всички те са част от голямата история на Порт Русе. Защото едно пристанище не е само кейове и съоръжения. То е общност. То е памет. То е човешки труд.
Днес тази връзка между водата, хората и бъдещето продължава чрез проект SOURCE – инициатива, която показва как устойчивото управление на водните ресурси може да съхрани богатството на реката и да го превърне във възможност за следващите поколения.

160 Years of Port Ruse – A Story Written in Water
There are cities that are born from stone. Ruse is also born from water.
For 160 years, Port Ruse has been the place where the river meets human effort, dreams and progress. The Danube is not just a border or a route – it is a living thread connecting generations of people, arriving ships, distant shores and stories that began along the quay.
Water has always been the heartbeat of this place. It carries the rhythm of port activities, the sound of waves against the hulls of ships, the reflections of the city and the memories of the people who have left their mark here.
But water has another face – the face of celebration, beauty and life. The fountains of Ruse are small urban rivers that bring together gazes, smiles and encounters. They tell the story of a city that knows how to transform water not only into a pathway, but also into art.
And behind every drop are the people. Port workers, engineers, sailors, traders and families whose lives have been connected with the river – all of them are part of the great story of Port Ruse. Because a port is not only quays and infrastructure. It is a community. It is memory. It is human effort.
Today, this connection between water, people and the future continues through the SOURCE project – an initiative that demonstrates how sustainable water resource management can preserve the wealth of the river and transform it into an opportunity for future generations.
